Measles case in Auckland - communications for Asian communities (May 2025)

As you may be aware, a new case of measles was confirmed in Auckland this week, linked to overseas travel.

Please can we request your support to:
- Promote the locations of interest to your community
- Emphasise now is the time for people to check if they are protected against measles, and to get immunised if not or they are not sure
The Measles, Mumps and Rubella vaccine is free in New Zealand for anyone under 18 years old, and for adults who are eligible for free healthcare.
Lots of pharmacies in Auckland offer free immunisation to those over 3 years old, or you can also get the vaccine from your usual doctor, nurse or Hauora provider.
People can check their immunisation records by logging onto My Health Record (www.my.health.nz), by contacting their local healthcare provider, or by following the guidance at: http://info.health.nz/measles-immunity.
